One of Sweden's best bassists, Jonas Hellborg, has teamed up with guitarist Shawn Lane and V. Selvaganesh who is playing Kanjeera and Udo.
Together they have created an astounding album titled "GOOD PEOPLE in Times of Evil".
It's a 50 minutes instrumental journey through soundscapes with various influences: jazz-fusion, American and Eastern folk music, jazz-rock etc.
Jonas Hellborg is a well-known name, especially among musicians, irrespective of genre. He has played alongside big names such as John McLaughlin, Billy Cobham and Ginger Baker.
I know many musicians even within the heavy metal and progressive rock genre that admires Jonas Hellborg. His slap bass playing is outstanding, but he controls almost every bass playing technique there is.
Shawn Lane has previously played with Black Oak Arkansas, Joe Walsh and Highwayman among others.
V. Salvaganesh is a rather new name, at least within this genre.
In these times when the charts is ruled by Hip Hop, House, Acid and other crap, Jonas Hellborg, Shawn Lane and V. Selvaganesh are the GOOD PEOPLE in Times of Evil.
