Grants Pass Home Depot Prepares For Busy Spring

home decorators While thousands of stores are letting go of their seasonal help, one big employer is preparing to hire.

Home Depot is about to enter its busiest season, Spring. Across the country they'll hire 70, 000 people; that shakes out to about 35 people for both the store in Phoenix and the soon-to-open store in Grants Pass.

The jobs are temporary. As sales dip in the early summer, many will be let go, but for a lucky few there is an opportunity to stay on. Officials say last year, about half of the workers that were brought on seasonally are hired on full time. They say they expect the same to be true this year.

Trainers say one of the most important characteristics they look for is good customer service. Most of the seasonal jobs will come in the lot, in the garden center and as cashiers.

The jobs in Grants Pass would be added on the jobs already filled there. That store is slated to open at the end of next month. The stores are accepting applications and will begin the interview process soon.
